Needless to say, I wished to visit a lot of places, but there was seldom ever time for it. This Sunday, I went out to discover Walkeshwar.

It was originally called “Walukeshwar” meaning the God of Sand.

The story goes something like this… During Vanvas, Ram visited this place and wanted to worship Lord Shiva.

So, he built a ShivLinga out of SAND (Walu) .

And as there wasn’t any water in the forest (at that time), he pulled out his arrow and shot it to the ground.

That is exactly how BanGanga came to existence.

Entire Walukeshwar is built around this water tank and has many temples, which are technically pretty primitive, is what the locals say.

Thanks to them, I got to know the story about the place too.

If you wish to see Benaras in Mumbai, this is the place.

If you wish to see Malhar with all His beautiful yellow turmeric, this is the place.

I hope to show you Mumbai, through my eyes, as never seen before, because as much as Mumbai has style, dreams, fashion, moderness, money;

It has a Soul too :)

There are literally many temples and Math, circling this place and you need not be a devout believer to visit them but rather to see the beauty of humankind and History, is How I see :)
