A tribute to ABBA

Some years back, when I was merrily listening to ABBA, my mom instantaneously said,
“This is a band from my time, how do you know them?”

me: “because they are good”

You see, one weekend, I had decided to watch ‘Mamma Mia’ on Romedy Now,
thinking it is the movie from which Hema Malini’s directorial and SRK’s debut was inspired

But, I ended up, loving every second of Mamma Mia, especially the songs — — Uffffff .. !!!!!!!

Since then, I have 3 wishes related to this:
1. Visit the ABBA Museum
2. Watch the Mamma Mia play
3. If ever a part2 of the movie happens, I watch it in theatre

The third one was the easiest to fulfill, because the part 2 happened :D
I took my constant movie companion, my mom with me and kept singing ABBA songs through-out the movie
Had a BALLLLL ….. !!!!!!!!

I never imagined, the band would revive
but since the last 2years, there was news of a re-union

Taking a 40years sabbatical
and then coming back
with same team — — the one’s you worked with, loved and married and got separated;

these humans are simply incredible

From ‘Gimme gimme gimme’ to ‘Keep an eye on Dan’, they have come a very loooooong way and lived it too

You can see it in the song writing itself, how well they have aged and how humanly their songs have matured now

They literally ‘Voyage’-d, what an apt name to the album

Needless, to say all the songs are pretty
but with ‘Keep an eye on Dan’, they made me believe their story of divorce and separation from their child

to the point, that I was consoling myself, “you have no one, why are you getting sad?”

I’m sure, for people who have lived through the exact situation, this song would be more relatable

I never managed to visit the Museum or watch the play
But I pray to God, He airlifts me and puts me in London during Spring 2022,
So I can watch Abba — — — live

I genuinely hope, because .. “I have a dream …….”

PS: I also love the fact, that they end the song “keep an eye on Dan” with “SOS” tune :)
