13th August 2023, marked the 228th death anniversary of
Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar
Why are we not taught about such great leaders that we had, in our history syllabus?
Ahilyabai was empathetic
Curious
Caring
Kind
A true leader from the time she was a young girl
She had two supportive father figures in her life
Her father and her father in law
Malhar Rao Holkar
Had immense faith in Ahilya’s capabilities
Isn’t that what each one of us need?
Someone who sees our worth
Someone who supports us
Her story tells me that something’s haven’t really changed much
And I dearly admire her will to question about things she doesn’t understand
Our land has seen so many great warriors and leaders, let us not forget about them
