Painstakingly Prepared. Brilliantly Executed

Not sure about you, but I genuinely started to feel like the hospitality industry began to suck after the pandemic

I mean, the quality of food, the way the staff interact with you and only want to upsell;
everything about the restaurant experience, went to an all time low, for me

Until I stumbled onto the Menu, a 2022 movie with
Voldemort(Ralph Fiennes) as the main chef

and I kind of had the sadistic pleasure of watching him serve his revenge- Oh So Cold !!!!!!
that is exactly how it is best served after all .. . :P

Now, This is how I look at the Menu !!!!

It’s basically a story of sad humans, who just can’t let normal humans be happy in the day to day work they do

If you look at it, I don’t see many folks around who still love coding,
Do you?

If not, continue reading, I have a case study from the movie Menu

List of sad humans:

1. The food critic

The ones who weren’t able to be the best, so go about ruining the restaurants of other good chefs by shutting it with their reviews

2. The food photographers

The silly instagramers who know nothing about the process of cooking food, rather have a fake personality by just clicking pictures of “Gourmet Food”

3. The rich

who are so lucky to be dining at the bestest places, eating the bestest food,
yet they don’t know the name of a single dish they ever had :(

So, What happened with our “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named” Chef

He used to be once happy running a street stall with burgers
but eventually with his growth, came the above list of saddies in his life;

Ultimately sucking the joy out of his love and passion for cooking

Try to understand this….

the pressure to create something unique, beautiful
always being under the limelight
being burned out
and yet not even being appreciated for their work

On top of it,
the bunch of elite class, who makes them feel like..
“Oh, you should feel proud of yourself, that we are eating here”

Do you get the point?

This RECEIPE of disaster,
in different shapes and forms can actually be seen in any industry, in the current times

==========================================================

PS: Why do I have to see so much ?
PPS: Actually being the restaurant industry is NOT AN EASY JOB !!!!
